Let’s get the obvious stuff out of the way.
First, you probably haven’t heard of me. That’s fine, I don’t expect people to know who I am.
Second, yes I know I’m a(n) (insert mean insult here). I never said I wasn’t a (repeat insult) and now that we both agree that I’m a (repeat insult) I’m hoping you’ll get past it and look around the site. My only goal is to share my work and now you might actually find yourself thinking, “ok, so that (repeat insult) made a (insert positive adjective) bunch of (expletive).”...You never know.
The truth is, I make things because I’m a chronic daydreamer. I always have been. Sure, every kid has moments of staring out the window during class but I enthusiastically pump my fist or shake my hands and launch myself into the fantasy of the moment. This was bad news for my social life as a kid and really, it hasn’t helped me “fit in” as an adult either. But in those moments of escape, or as I more consciously swim around in my head (because you can’t daydream and drive), I have ideas that need someplace to go. Essentially, art justifies the incredible amount of time I spend on my inner life.
But it’s simplistic to say that’s all there is to it. I am very passionate about the creative process, I’m fascinated by art in virtually every form, and my favorite moments in life are when someone’s creation reaches me mentally or emotionally. My favorite art forms are the most main stream: film, tv, music, photography, and literature. But make no mistake, I’d paint, sculpt, dance ballet, or create unusual architecture if I had it in me.
My greatest artistic flaw is my eclectic and sometimes scattered desire to work in too many mediums. My greatest accomplishment is that I do make my living creating (though, like many a creative person, I’ve had to settle for creating for commercial rather than personal ends).
I will come back to this about me section and write more about...whatever. My influences, sensibilities or maybe just my life story. It depends on what I feel like adding and what people seem to want to read. But for now, I’ll let the work I’ve posted so far speak for itself and come back often as this site is young and I have so much more to add.
